Gen Z's Perceptions of the Presidential Debate on Television in the 2024 Presidential Election in Pamijahan District

Gen Z tends to prioritize digital which is vulnerable to exposure to broadcast content that will benefit and harm several parties involved in the broadcast. This will change Gen Z's perception in choosing Presidential Candidates. Gen Z is very active and clever in using digital. More than 92 percent of mass media users are television and the majority use it all the time to relax with anyone. Gen Z chooses television as a tool for searching for political news. In fact, in 2023, the rate of increase in Gen Z searching for news on political issues will be very rapid, namely 75.69 percent for television, 64.71 percent for the internet and a figure of 38.65 percent for online media. . These figures show that Gen Z cares about and wants to participate in the world of politics which will determine the winner of the 2024 Presidential Election. Gen Z brings a unique and dynamic perspective in facing the political process and general elections. The number of Gen Z in Indonesia has reached 270.2 million people, and they will be targeted in the 2024 elections, especially Generation Z who are voting for the first time in a general election. As voters, they expect leaders who are responsible, have a good vision, and are able to embrace various groups.
