Peer Review Process

Publication of articles in Jurnal Sahid Da’watii depends solely on the validity and scientific coherence as assessed by our editors and/or peer reviewers, who will also assess whether the writing is understandable and whether the work is a useful contribution to the field. Jurnal Sahid Da’watii acknowledges the efforts and suggestions given by its reviewers.

Initial evaluation of manuscripts

The editor will first evaluate all submitted manuscripts for a maximum of 2 weeks. Although rare, it is very feasible for outstanding manuscripts to be accepted at this stage. Those rejected at this stage are not original enough, have serious scientific flaws, or are outside the goals and scope of Jurnal Sahid Da’watii. Those that meet the minimum criteria are forwarded to expert reviewers for review. It usually takes up to 3 weeks.

Type of peer review

Submitted manuscripts will generally be reviewed by two to three experts who will be asked to evaluate whether the manuscript is scientifically sound and coherent, whether it duplicates published work, and whether the manuscript is clear enough to be published or not. The method is blind peer review. Another round of the review process will be carried out if the first round is inadequate.

Review Report

Reviewers are asked to evaluate whether the manuscript:

  1. Is original with clear statement of aims and gaps
    2. Is methodologically sound
    3. Follows appropriate ethical guidelines
    4. Has results/findings clearly presented and support the conclusions
    5. Refers appropriately to relevant previous work
    6. Reviewers are not expected to proofread or edit the manuscript. Language correction is not part of the peer review process.

Decision

The reviewers inform the editor, who is responsible for the final decision to accept or reject the article. The editor will reach a decision based on this report and, if necessary, they will consult with the Editorial Board members. The editor's decision is final.

Publication

Articles that have been reviewed through editorial review and peer review and are declared ACCEPTABLE FOR PUBLICATION, the Editorial Team issues a Decision Letter containing the decision to publish.
