This study aims to analyze the role of teachers and the school environment in increasing students’ reading interest at SDIT Bumi Putera Pamijahan. The background of this research is based on the importance of strengthening literacy culture at the elementary school level as a foundation for developing students' critical thinking skills and learning abilities. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of literacy practices within the school environment. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving participants consisting of the principal, teachers, and students selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that teachers play significant roles as facilitators, motivators, and role models in fostering students’ reading interest through various learning strategies such as read-aloud activities, storytelling, and integrating reading activities into classroom learning. In addition, a supportive school environment through literacy facilities such as the school library, classroom reading corners, and routine literacy programs also contributes to developing students’ reading culture. However, the study also found several challenges in increasing students’ reading interest, particularly the influence of gadget use and limited literacy support from the family environment. These findings indicate that improving students’ reading interest requires synergy between teachers, the school environment, and family support. Therefore, strengthening sustainable school literacy programs and enhancing collaboration between schools and parents are essential in developing a reading culture among elementary school students.
